        In the current situation in Thailand, It was found that adolescents had increased sex drive and began to have sex while getting younger resulting in premature sex. There is a risk of teenage pregnancy which may result in unwanted pregnancies until one may have to leave school and some decide to have an abortion. Or agree to marry and raise children while not ready to lead to family problems until divorce. Some of them may be sexually transmitted diseases or health risks during pregnancy for both adolescents and their infants, which may result in a lack of quality population for further social development. However, one of the causes of premature sex is unprotected sex. Therefore, hedging against this risk. Therefore, it requires cooperation from many sectors, both public and private sectors such as providing appropriate sex education or support for access to contraceptive information, especially condom use.

Objective

• To develop the potential of Walailak University student leaders and provide knowledge and positive communication skills about condoms
•  To allow youth groups aged 10-15 years in educational institutions in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and gain knowledge about condoms through positive communication activities (about change and growth and sexual health crosswords) from student leaders Walailak University.

Period

          Total implementation period 2 months between February, 2023 to March, 2023

Target group 

          Elementary and junior high school students in educational institutions in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, 

Area 1, totaling 5 schools, totaling 620 people.

Method of action

1) Preparatory phase

          - Recruited student leaders to be developed as leaders in organizing activities.

          - Select schools participating in the event by selecting schools under Nakhon Si Thammarat Primary Educational Service Area Office, Regions 1-4 and schools under the Nakhon Si Thammarat Secondary Educational Service Area Office

2) Operation phase

          - Develop the potential of student leaders, positive communication, and condoms to prepare for activities in educational institutions. The action of student leaders in the target school consists of Organizing activities on change and growth and a crossword for sexual health Positive communication with condoms in the form of older siblings talking openly with their younger siblings, to answer questions for effective prevention of disease; to instill the value of using condoms in early adolescents to know, dare to know, dare to use condoms.

3) Evaluation phase

          Evaluate the process 

          evaluate the results and a study of data from the point of view of positive communication on condoms in 5 topics: 1) creating a positive image; positive about condoms, 2) couples' views on condoms, 3) peers' views on condoms, 4) beliefs and behaviors about condoms, and 5) adults' beliefs about sex, sexuality, and condom.

Knowledge used

• Right condom use attitude promoting access to condoms Including supporting the use of condoms for all-round protection.
•  Adaptations for disease prevention and an impact on society that can be assessed.

Quantitative results

• The emergence of positive communication among student leaders. Condoms can extend teaching to students aged 10-15 years in educational institutions in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province accounting for 106 percent.
• Student leaders expand teaching to students aged 10-15 years, accounting for 92%.
• Leading students in Nakhon Si Thammarat province schools with Knowledge and positive attitude about condoms 80%.

Qualitative results in positive condom branding

• Young people think it's a matter of good defense.
• Young people learn more positive images of condoms.
• Benefits from learning condom positive image: youth speakers are more assertive adult speakers learn more, gain networking, and see perspectives of people of different ages.

Collaborative process of alliances and partnerships (partnership) integration or cooperation with internal and external agencies

        Operators in the project come from network partners working to develop children and youth. The coordinator is a public health academic. Department of Social Medicine Walailak University Medical Center Hospital together with the project manager Coordinates to carry out projects. 3 teams are participating in the activities: A team from Walailak University Nakhon Si Thammarat youth group team and a team of specialized speakers in the area which each event. There will be several adults and youth working as a team. which has been trained by Path to Health and were coached on-site by the central project manager from Path to Health (M) and the project manager of the School of Nursing.
